Meet the Supplier… In April We Feature Emma Scattergood From Anderson Advertising

By Julia Ford

Up next for our ‘Meet The Supplier’ feature is… Emma Scattergood, Managing Director at Anderson Advertising & Property Management based in Leeds

1.Tell us about your role at Anderson, and the part you play.

Where to start! Like any business owner, I have a number of different roles to play — from liaising with clients about their property marketing activity and advising on strategy, to taking briefs, translating these into instructions for our in-house studio, and overseeing the work until it’s ready to present back to the client for feedback.

Of course, in between all this, I do enjoy going for the odd coffee or drink to catch up with clients and industry colleagues!

2. What’s been a key highlight for your organisation, to get to where you are now?

Without sounding too cheesy, it’s the people. Our loyal clientele, dedicated agents, and property professionals, alongside our exceptional team, have all played integral roles in our success and helped to bolster Anderson’s 44-year reputation. Our business thrives on client satisfaction, so we rely on exceptional results, delivered with care by our talented colleagues.

3.  And what’s next for your business?

Good question. Another successful 44 years? Hopefully further growth and new business relationships. Somewhere within that we will hopefully be mastering the world of AI too!

4. Share one word you would use to describe your industry:

 Varied.

5. Finish the sentence: The biggest misconception faced by our business sector is…

…that you have to have big budgets to market your property successfully.

 6. What advice would you give to someone starting a career within your sector?

Immerse yourself in the property market to the point where you can confidently ‘speak the language’ and know the intricacies of the industry. Once you have mastered this, you will be able to think outside the box and come up with truly creative solutions that have never been done before.

7. And the best piece of professional advice you were ever given?

 It’s always better to under-promise and over-deliver than to over-promise and under-deliver.

8. What will the biggest trend be affecting your business over the next 12 months?

Artificial Intelligence. We are already seeing AI being incorporated into the programmes we work with, so it will be interesting to watch this evolve over the coming months and years.

9. What would be the first activity you opt for, to pass the time out of work?

As anyone who knows me well will attest, I would go for a run!

10. And finally, for a bit of fun, if you could play a part in a movie, what would it be and why?

Baby in Dirty Dancing as I’ve always wanted to be able to dance — honestly… nothing to do with Patrick Swayze being her dance partner!
