We recently welcomed Henry Hallam, student in year 10 at Hipperholme Grammar School, for a week of work experience at Towngate HQ. A keen skier, biker, and footie fanatic, it was a pleasure to have him on board. Here’s a little more about his time spent with us…
1. Tell us a bit about yourself —what are your hobbies and interests?
My name is Henry Hallam, I’m 15 years old, and I’m a student at Hipperholme Grammar School. My main interests include playing football, skiing, and riding my bike.
2. How would you say your friends and family would describe you?
I think my friends and family would describe me as competitive and friendly, but also a little bit shy.
3. How do you spend a typical weekend?
I spend my weekends out with my friends, playing sports.
4. What subjects have you chosen for your GCSE options?
I have chosen maths, English, PE, history, business studies, and separate science.
5. What is your favourite part of school life?
Seeing my friends.
6. What are your career aspirations?
I would love to be a ski instructor, just for a year or so. Beyond that, I’m still working on it!
7. What do you know about Towngate and what we do?
Towngate buys, develops, and rents out properties to businesses seeking warehouse/industrial units or office space.
8. How do you think you could utilise your skills within your work experience role?
I could utilise my teamwork skills to collaborate as part of a team, and apply my hardworking attitude to ensure everything is delivered to the highest standard.
9. What are you hoping to take away from your work experience at Towngate?
I’m hoping to learn more about Towngate and what they do, as well as how they manage all of their properties so successfully.
10. Where do you see yourself in five years? Do you have plans to continue your education, travel etc?
In five years I see myself travelling the world (fingers crossed!).
