Farsley Transport

By Julia Ford

Distribution company Farsley Transport was the brainchild of Neil Chappelow who, back in 1994, took to the roads of the UK in his Escort van and delivered goods on behalf of other businesses. Since then, the company has gone from strength to strength and now owns a whole fleet of vehicles and a strong workforce.

Farsley Transport initially occupied space at Leeds West, close to our Olympia Trading Estate, for several years. However, it required additional space and approached Towngate in 2017 to enquire about Unit 4C Olympia Trading Estate, a 8,000 sq ft unit with a secure rear yard. A three-year lease was signed. During this period, Towngate purchased Farsley Transport’s existing site at Leeds West so Neil and his staff became tenants of Towngate for a second time through this transaction.

In 2018, Farsley Transport required even more space and in July, we agreed a surrender of Unit 4C and Farsley signed a lease on our Croxley House premises – a 28,000 sq ft warehouse unit and yard, right next door to their original facility.

Neil commented: “Towngate has been a professional, supportive and personable landlord – always available to speak with and offer assistance when required.  We are delighted to occupy a facility owned by the group and look forward to working with the team going forward.”
